Module 6: Insulin Resistance and Your Heart Health

Welcome to Module 6, where we turn our attention to the globe’s leading cause of death: heart disease.

For decades, the conversation has been dominated by cholesterol and dietary fat. However, we’re about to explore a more powerful and accurate story, revealing that the true foundation of most heart disease is not a fat problem, but a metabolic one driven by insulin resistance.

Heart disease isn’t just a simple plumbing issue of clogged pipes; it’s a complex metabolic condition. Chronically high insulin levels, or hyperinsulinemia, create a perfect storm for cardiovascular damage. It contributes to high blood pressure, creates an unhealthy cholesterol profile (dyslipidemia), and causes a hardening of the arteries by damaging their delicate lining.

This module challenges the outdated advice that demonized dietary fat. Instead, we unmask the true dietary culprits: refined carbohydrates and sugars. These are the primary drivers of the high insulin and chronic inflammation that are now understood to be at the very core of what causes heart attacks and other cardiovascular events.

The most empowering part of this new understanding is that it points directly to the solution. If high insulin is the ringleader, then controlling carbohydrates is how we address the root cause.

This module will show you how a low-carbohydrate lifestyle can be truly heart-protective, offering a powerful path to lasting cardiovascular health.
